Comprehensive support for foreigners as a part of the Active Citizens Fund
Since 2000, the Ocalenie Foundation has been conducting activities to support foreign individuals with migration and refugee life experience in Poland. It focuses on integration activities and since 2021, has also been involved in humanitarian actions on the Polish-Belarusian border.
The Foundation provides comprehensive support through Help Centers for Foreigners in Warsaw, Łódź, and Łomża, which serve around 10,000 people annually. The Centers offer consultations with cultural mentors, legal support, material assistance, Polish language lessons opportunity, career counseling, and psychological support.
Children of foreigners benefit from individual tutoring in Warsaw, as well as community centers in Warsaw, Łomża, and Łódź. Ocalenie also implements housing support programs and provides material assistance through the free social store “Magazin” in Warsaw.
The Foundation pays special care to individuals at risk of social exclusion, victims of torture, war, and persecution, single parents raising children, and foreigners experiencing intersecting discrimination based on gender or sexual orientation.
Since the Russian aggression on Ukraine, the Foundation has been carrying out intervention activities for Ukrainian refugees, including providing accommodation, transportation, food, safe spaces for children in reception centers at the border, and community centers for children and youth in Warsaw, the Mazovian, and Lublin voivodeships, as well as counseling and specialized assistance.
The Foundation’s tenacious field team is constantly present at the Belarusian border, carrying humanitarian aid.We also provide foreigners who are residents of closed camps with in-kind support and legal assistance.
Through institutional grants, Ocalenie aims to strengthen its team for business cooperation in order to increase the scale of support for foreign individuals in the job market, create an advisory website for foundation clients, and develop communication and internal policy systems tailored to the needs of the growing Foundation team.
The organization’s activities in the years 2022-2024 are financed by the Norwegian Funds within the Active Citizens Program – National Fund.
